New update on the Arduino mini CNC. Found a suitable Z-axis and tested it. More info here

The upper end of the z-axis threaded rod is not really clamped on the Vertex K8400 3D printer.
To improve this I printed a design from thingiverse and ordered a 608 bearing. This mod should reduce vibrating sounds coming from the z-axis and improve print quality. A lot of people struggle with uploading their sketch to the Arduino Pro mini. (When not using a ISP programmer) In this Tutorial I'll show how I do it by using a Arduino UNO (SMD version) as programmer. (SMD = Not possible to remove CPU as in most other tutorials) It works quite well for me, I hope for you also. The robot is completely assembled. It still needs some more work, tidy the wiring and make some improvements... But it was good enough to do a first test run. More info on my projects page. Today I received my Arduino Pro Mini.
It is really small and compact. I'll use it as control board for my Quadruped robot. An update on this will follow soon. Below you can see the Arduino Pro Mini compared to a Arduino Uno and a Arduino Nano. Building a Arduino mini CNC with CD/DVD drive stepper motors. First test of X and y-axis. More information can be found here.
Currently working on a quadruped robot.
What I have already done: 3D printing all parts. Assembling legs and attach them to the frame. Go to my projects page for more details. |
